The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the registration process for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR UGC NET) June 2026 session today, June 19, 2026. Eligible candidates who have not yet applied can submit their application forms through the official website before the deadline.The examination is conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and admission to PhD programmes in Indian universities and colleges.
Important dates
According to the official notification, the online application process began on May 27, 2026, and will remain open until 11:50 PM on June 19, 2026.Candidates can pay the application fee online until 11:50 PM on June 20, 2026 through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.The application correction window will be available from June 22 to June 23, 2026, up to 11:50 PM.
CSIR UGC NET June 2026 exam schedule
The CSIR UGC NET June 2026 examination will be conducted on July 17 and July 18, 2026, in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.The test will be held in two shifts:
- Shift 1: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
- Shift 2: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Each paper will have a duration of 180 minutes (3 hours).
Subjects covered in the examination
The examination will be conducted for the following five subjects:
- Chemical Sciences
- Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
- Life Sciences
- Mathematical Sciences
- Physical Sciences
The question paper will be available in English and Hindi.
