Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the Class 10 Second Board Result 2026 soon. Although the board has not yet confirmed an official date, lakhs of students who appeared for the Phase 2 examination are waiting for their scores.As students await the result, data from previous years’ supplementary examinations shows how performance levels have changed over time. In 2025, a total of 1,38,898 students appeared for the Class 10 supplementary examination and 67,620 cleared it, resulting in a pass percentage of 48.68%.The figures marked a sharp rise from 2024, when only 37,957 of the 1,27,473 candidates passed the examination. The overall pass percentage that year stood at 29.78%.In 2023, 60,551 out of 1,27,622 students cleared the supplementary examination, taking the pass percentage to 47.40%. The data shows that pass percentages have fluctuated in recent years, with a notable improvement between 2024 and 2025.

The 2026 academic session is also significant because it marks the introduction of CBSE’s new two-exam board system for Class 10 students. Under the revised format, students get another opportunity to improve their scores by appearing in a second board examination if they are not satisfied with their performance in the first attempt.More than 6.68 lakh students reportedly appeared for the CBSE Class 10 second board examination this year. Among all subjects, Science recorded the highest number of registrations, followed by Mathematics and Social Science. A large number of candidates also appeared for regional and foreign language papers, while fewer students opted for specialised subjects such as Artificial Intelligence, Tourism, Music and Painting.Once declared, students will be able to check their results on the official websites, cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in. Marksheets will also be available through DigiLocker, the UMANG app, SMS and IVRS services.
