T. P. Aggarwal slams FWICE over non-cooperation directive, questions authority, and reveals plans to work with Ranveer Singh
Veteran producer T P Aggarwal has approached the Bombay Civil Court against FWICE and IMPPA, challenging their authority to issue non-cooperation directives after a similar order against Ranveer Singh. He cited a CCI ruling, raised concerns over artists’ livelihoods, and said he had planned to work with Ranveer Singh. Aggarwal confirmed he has not spoken to the actor and said FWICE did not contact him after the court move.

A day earlier, veteran producer T P Aggarwal approached the Bombay Civil Court in Dindoshi with a petition against FWICE and IMPPA (Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association). He argued that neither individuals nor industry bodies have the legal authority to impose bans or issue non-cooperation directives against film industry members. The move follows FWICE’s non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh amid his ongoing dispute with Excel Entertainment.

T. P. Aggarwal cites industry experience and CCI ruling and recalls planned collaboration with Ranveer Singh

Aggarwal told Bollywood Hungama, “As you are well aware, I was the president of IMPPA for 17 years and also a president of the Film Federation of India (FFI). We had received a judgment from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) when I was in IMPPA against FWICE. The judgment clearly said that they cannot take such decisions, they cannot enter into any premises, etc. Meanwhile, I was planning to make a film and was thinking of talking to Sanjay Dutt and Ranveer Singh. This is when I learned about the non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh.”

T.P. Aggarwal questions FWICE action and raises concern over livelihoods

Questioning FWICE’s decision, Aggarwal said he was concerned about the impact such directives could have on an artist’s livelihood. He stated, “You want to make sure that the actor gets work anywhere. Aise toh aap sabki rozi roti khatam kar doge. This is when I decided to approach the court.”

T. P. Aggarwal says FWICE did not contact him after the court move

Responding to a question about whether FWICE representatives reached out to him after he moved court, Aggarwal said they had not. He maintained that any discussion should have taken place before the decision was made, given his long association with the industry and his tenure as a former IMPPA president. “Why should they contact me (laughs)? They should have contacted me before they made this decision. After all, they know me well and they are aware that I am an ex-president of IMPPA. Agar woh gundagardi karke apni power dikhayenge, aise toh nahin chalega na? They cannot do that,” he said.

T. P. Aggarwal clarifies he has not spoken to Ranveer Singh

Addressing a query on whether he had reached out to Ranveer, Aggarwal said he had not been in touch with the actor. He further stated that his decision to move court was not driven by any desire for publicity or interaction. “No, I didn’t. I have not taken this step so that Ranveer should come and talk to me. I don’t need that publicity.”
