Net sales of Upland cotton for the 2025–26 marketing year reached 207,000 RB (running bales, each weighing 226.8 kg), up 12 per cent from the previous week and 60 per cent above the prior four-week average. Vietnam remained the leading buyer with purchases of 83,300 RB, including volumes switched from China, Japan and South Korea. Pakistan followed with 57,300 RB, while India booked 35,300 RB. Indonesia purchased 13,500 RB and Bangladesh added 8,000 RB. These gains were partly offset by reductions for China, Bahrain, South Korea and Japan.
US cotton export demand strengthened in the week ended June 4, with Upland sales rising 12 per cent to 207,000 RB and shipments increasing 12 per cent to 300,100 RB.
Vietnam, Pakistan and India led buying.

Pima shipments hit a marketing-year high of 22,900 RB, driven by strong demand from India and Pakistan.
New-crop Upland sales for the 2026–27 marketing year surged to 298,700 RB. Vietnam dominated bookings with 180,000 RB, followed by Nicaragua (39,700 RB), Türkiye (28,600 RB), Mexico (23,000 RB) and unknown destinations (13,200 RB).
Upland export shipments increased to 300,100 RB, up 12 per cent from the previous week and 3 per cent above the prior four-week average. Vietnam remained the top destination with shipments of 109,200 RB, followed by Pakistan (49,400 RB), India (35,800 RB), Mexico (23,100 RB) and Bangladesh (22,300 RB).
Pima cotton also posted stronger demand during the week. Net sales for the 2025–26 marketing year rose to 7,600 RB, up 40 per cent from the previous week and 13 per cent above the prior four-week average. India led purchases with 5,600 RB, followed by Peru (1,100 RB), Djibouti (500 RB), Indonesia (200 RB) and Guatemala (200 RB). New-crop Pima sales for the 2026–27 marketing year were limited to 100 RB for Vietnam.
Pima export shipments reached a new marketing-year high of 22,900 RB, increasing 22 per cent from the previous week and 90 per cent above the prior four-week average. India remained the largest destination with shipments of 7,400 RB, followed by Pakistan (5,700 RB), China (4,000 RB), Vietnam (2,300 RB) and Djibouti (1,300 RB).
Overall, the latest USDA data showed continued strong global demand for US cotton, led by Vietnam, Pakistan and India. Upland sales and shipments improved further, while Pima cotton recorded another marketing-year-high export performance, supported by robust buying activity from India and Pakistan.
