After cadaver remarks row, Dr Sejal Pawar accused of using fake ST certificate to secure MBBS seat

Dr Sejal Pawar, who recently landed in controversy over remarks made during comedian Pranit More’s stand-up show, is now facing fresh allegations online regarding her admission to a medical college under fake Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificate. The allegations surfaced days after Maharashtra Cyber registered an FIR against More, Pawar and others over allegedly creating and circulating obscene and objectionable content through stand-up comedy programmes and social media platforms. One social media user claimed that Pawar had secured her MBBS seat under the ST quota and questioned the validity of her caste certificate as Pawars aren’t part of the ST list.“Sejal Pawar, who sparked controversy in Pranit More’s comedy show over a discussion on the dick sizes of dead people, is now facing another fraud case. When the Khurpanch team dug into her college website and scoured her results, they found that this madam had snagged her seat under the ST quota,” the user wrote. The post further stated: “If these allegations are true, the Maharashtra government should conduct a fair probe into Sejal Pawar’s ST certificate and bring the truth to light. If the investigation reveals that she grabbed the seat by exploiting a fake ST category, then strict action should be taken as per the law.”Another user wrote, “Sejal Pawar belongs from a Reservation quota?? a ST background?? BUT HOW ?? Pawar is from the lineage of Rajput, No state of India Consider them ST then how she got a ST certificate?” the user wrote. The latest controversy comes shortly after Maharashtra Cyber registered an FIR against Pawar, comedian Pranit More and others. The case stems from a clip of More’s stand-up show in which Pawar made remarks about a male cadaver during a discussion related to post-mortem examinations. The clip drew massive criticism with many calling the comments were disrespectful towards deceased individuals and undermined the dignity of cadavers used in medical education. Pawar later apologised.A case has also been registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act and summons have been issued by Maharashtra cyber cell.
