Next on the list is the green anaconda which is only a little shorter than the reticulated python. It is famous as the world’s heaviest snake. Among them, grown-up females are massive. These spend much of their lives in water and depend on fish, caimans, and capybaras for food. Exceptional individuals can exceed 20 feet in length while weighing more than 90 kg in some cases.
Where to spot The Amazon Basin across Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, and the Guianas are known for the presence of green anaconda. Guided wildlife cruises are available.
