Mumbai: Listed oncology hospital chain HealthCare Global Enterprises (HCG) launched a new facility in Bengaluru on Tuesday, with an investment of nearly Rs 129 crore.
The 132-bed facility in Hebbal takes HCG’s hospital count in the city to three. It uses advanced MRI scanner machines that combine high-quality imaging with a linear accelerator for precise, adaptive cancer treatment, said the chain in a statement.
“Cancer care today has become increasingly data-driven and technology-oriented. Our goal is not only to prevent recurrences, but also to make even advanced and metastatic cancers manageable,” said founder B S Ajaikumar in the statement.
The launch comes roughly a year after KKR acquired approximately 54% stake in HCG for Rs 3,466 crore. Founder Ajaikumar and his family hold roughly 10% in the listed company. HCG operates around 2,500 beds across 25 centres in India.
The chain is also in talks to acquire Siemens Healthineers-owned American Oncology, as the German medtech major looks to exit that business, ET reported last week.
HCG Hebbal features five robotic-assisted operation theatres, 19 chemotherapy daycare beds, 14 premium treatment bays, and a 15-bed ICU. It also has endoscopy, mammography, advanced laboratories and histopathology services, added the statement.
“HCG Hebbal brings together people-centric care, multidisciplinary expertise and advanced technology,” said chief executive Manish Mattoo.
