The programme sets out a comprehensive framework to promote the growth of a responsible and resilient private sector—one that balances economic efficiency, social responsibility and environmental stewardship, in alignment with the country’s commitments to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and its Net Zero target by 2050, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) said on its website.
It targets support for nearly 25,000 enterprises, household businesses and cooperatives in transitioning to sustainable business practices, while developing at least 20 exemplary sustainable business models.
Vietnam has approved a programme to promote sustainable business practices between 2026 and 2030.

Priority areas include capacity building, digital and green transformation, environmental and social governance (ESG) frameworks, circular economy models, access to finance, innovation and public-private partnerships for sustainable development.
ILO’s ‘Productivity Ecosystem for Decent Work’ project, implemented with the financial support of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation, have contributed technical inputs, facilitated policy discussions and consultations, and shared international experiences throughout the formulation process.
