Punjabi actor-singer Ammy Virk has credited Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone‘s daughter Dua for bringing good fortune into the actor’s life, recalling an emotional conversation they had before the release of the first Dhurandhar film.Speaking to Connect Cine, Ammy revealed that Ranveer had sent him a heartfelt message after the trailer launch, sharing how much he had invested—both emotionally and financially—in the ambitious project.

‘His daughter brought him such good luck’

Recalling their exchange, Ammy said, “I congratulated him after Dhurandhar’s trailer came out. His daughter was born by then. He sent me a long message in English. He told me that I have invested everything in this film.”The actor said he encouraged Ranveer to stay positive and reminded him that fatherhood had ushered in a new chapter in his life.“I told him to wait and see and said that his daughter has brought him good luck and God was going to be kind. And that’s what happened. His daughter brought him such good luck,” Ammy said.Ranveer and Deepika welcomed their daughter Dua in September 2024.

‘Kids come with their own fortune’

Ammy revealed that he had another conversation with Ranveer before the release of the second Dhurandhar film, which also went on to become a major success.“I told him, ‘See, your daughter brought such good luck.’ Kids come with their own fortune. The second film also did so well. He was so happy,” he said.The actor added that he takes pride in seeing his friend achieve such remarkable success.“You feel so proud that India’s most successful franchise has my friend in it,” Ammy remarked.

Ammy backs Ranveer in Don 3 controversy

In the same interview, Ammy publicly supported Ranveer amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his exit from Don 3.Speaking about the dispute between Ranveer and Excel Entertainment, Ammy questioned why the producers were demanding Rs 45 crore from the actor after the success of Dhurandhar.“I feel, when he had a few flops, then you could have started Don 3. Then they ignored him. Now that Dhurandhar is a hit, they are asking for their money back,” he said, arguing that Ranveer should not be expected to pay the reported compensation amount.
