CAT 2026 registration begins

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) Indore has started the registration process for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 today, August 3, at 10 am. Eligible candidates can fill out the CAT 2026 application form through the official website.The last date to submit the application form is September 15, 2026, till 5 pm.Candidates from the general, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Non-Creamy Other Backward Classes (NC-OBC) categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 2,700. For Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates, the fee is Rs 1,350. The fee is to be paid only once, regardless of the number of IIM programmes selected, and it is non-refundable.To be eligible, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade point average. Candidates belonging to the SC, ST and PwBD categories need a minimum of 45% marks. Final-year undergraduate students and those awaiting their results can also apply, subject to the admission requirements of the participating IIMs.During the application process, candidates will have to select five preferred test cities. One city will be allotted based on availability. If none of the selected cities are available, a nearby test city will be assigned.

How to apply for CAT 2026

Candidates can follow these steps to complete the registration process:

  • Visit the official CAT website.
  • Click on ‘New Candidate Registration’.
  • Register using your name, email ID and mobile number.
  • Verify the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered email ID and mobile number.
  • Log in using the generated user ID and password.
  • Fill in your personal details and upload the required documents.
  • Enter your academic details from Class 10 onwards.
  • Add work experience details, if applicable.
  • Select the IIM programmes you wish to apply for.
  • Choose five preferred test cities.
  • Preview the application form, accept the declaration, pay the application fee and submit the form.

Direct link to apply here.Candidates can save the application form and complete it later before the deadline. However, no changes will be allowed after the application fee has been paid and the form has been submitted.

Documents required

Before filling out the application form, candidates should keep the following ready:

  • A valid email ID and mobile number
  • A recent passport-sized photograph with a white background
  • Scanned signature
  • Academic details from Class 10 onwards
  • Category certificate, if applicable
  • PwBD certificate, if applicable
  • Work experience details, if any

CAT 2026 exam date

The CAT 2026 exam will be held as a computer-based test on November 29, 2026, in three sessions across nearly 170 test cities.Admit cards will be available for download from November 4, 2026. The results are expected to be announced in the first week of January 2027, and the scores will remain valid until December 31, 2027.The registration window will remain open until 5 pm on September 15, 2026. Candidates are advised to complete the application process well before the last date to avoid last-minute technical issues.
