Central Bank of India Apprentice recruitment 2026

The Central Bank of India has released the official notification for the recruitment of 4,500 apprentices for the financial year 2026-27. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the prescribed portals from June 12, 2026.According to the notification, the online registration process has already started and will remain open until June 22, 2026. The bank has announced apprentice vacancies across various states and Union Territories of the country.

Vacancy details

A total of 4,500 apprentice posts have been announced under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The vacancies are distributed across different states and Union Territories based on the bank’s requirements.Some of the states with a large number of vacancies include:

  • Maharashtra – 586 posts
  • Uttar Pradesh – 580 posts
  • Madhya Pradesh – 459 posts
  • Bihar – 433 posts
  • West Bengal – 315 posts
  • Gujarat – 305 posts

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must satisfy the eligibility conditions prescribed by the bank before applying.Educational qualification

  • Applicants should possess a graduation degree from a recognised university or institution.
  • Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training in any organisation or are currently pursuing apprenticeship training are not eligible to apply.
  • The notification also states that candidates having one year or more of job experience or training after obtaining the required educational qualification will not be eligible for apprenticeship engagement.

Age limit

  • The eligibility cut-off date is May 31, 2026. Candidates should check the detailed age criteria and category-wise relaxations mentioned in the official notification before submitting their applications.

Selection process

The selection process will consist of:

  • Online examination
  • Local language proficiency test
  • Document verification
  • Medical fitness assessment

The online examination will include questions from:

  • General and Financial Awareness
  • Quantitative and Reasoning Aptitude
  • Computer Knowledge
  • General English
  • Central Bank of India Products and Services

The test will carry 100 questions for 100 marks and will be conducted for 60 minutes. There will be no negative marking.

Stipend

Selected apprentices will receive a stipend of Rs 15,000 per month during the training period.The apprenticeship training will be for 12 months. However, apprentices will not be entitled to any additional allowances or employee benefits offered by the bank.Read the detailed notification here.

Application fee

The application fee varies according to the candidate category.

  • General/EWS/OBC Male: Rs 944
  • General/EWS/OBC Female: Rs 708
  • SC/ST candidates: Rs 236
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Rs 236
  • Transgender candidates: Rs 236

The fee includes applicable GST charges.

How to apply

Candidates must first register themselves on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal.After successful registration, eligible candidates will receive further instructions to complete the application process through the designated portal by providing personal details, category information, district preferences, and fee payment.Direct link here.Applicants are advised to submit their forms well before the last date and regularly check the official website for the latest updates regarding the examination and selection process.
