The Central Bank of India will close the online registration process for 4,500 Apprentice posts tomorrow, June 28, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates who have not yet applied should complete their applications before the deadline through the prescribed online portals.Earlier, the last date to apply was June 22, 2026. However, the bank has extended the registration deadline to June 28, giving candidates additional time to submit their applications.The recruitment drive is being conducted for engagement of apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the financial year 2026-27. Vacancies have been announced across various states and Union Territories.

Vacancy details

A total of 4,500 Apprentice posts will be filled through this recruitment drive.Some states with the highest number of vacancies are:

  • Maharashtra – 586 posts
  • Uttar Pradesh – 580 posts
  • Madhya Pradesh – 459 posts
  • Bihar – 433 posts
  • West Bengal – 315 posts
  • Gujarat – 305 posts

Eligibility criteria

Educational qualification

  • Candidates must have a graduate degree from a recognised university or institution.
  • Applicants who have already completed apprenticeship training in any organisation or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training are not eligible to apply.
  • The bank has also clarified that candidates with one year or more of job experience or training after obtaining the required educational qualification will not be considered eligible for apprenticeship.

Age limit

  • The age eligibility will be calculated as on May 31, 2026. Candidates are advised to check the detailed notification for category-wise age relaxation.

Selection process

The selection process includes:

  • Online examination
  • Local language proficiency test
  • Document verification
  • Medical fitness assessment

The online examination will consist of 100 questions carrying 100 marks and will be conducted for 60 minutes. There will be no negative marking.The paper will include questions from:

  • General and Financial Awareness
  • Quantitative and Reasoning Aptitude
  • Computer Knowledge
  • General English
  • Central Bank of India Products and Services

The online examination is expected to be held in the first week of July 2026.

Stipend

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000 during the apprenticeship period.The apprenticeship training will be for 12 months. No additional allowances or employee benefits will be provided during the training.

How to apply

Candidates can follow these steps to complete the application process:

  • Register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal.
  • Complete the registration process using the required details.
  • Eligible candidates will receive further instructions to complete the application on the designated portal.
  • Fill in the required personal, category and district preference details.
  • Pay the application fee online.
  • Submit the application form and save a copy for future reference.
