China is now a major trading partner for over 160 countries and regions, with imports becoming more diversified.
Customs official Wang Jun said China will expand imports during 2026-2030 to meet varied consumer demand.
Planned work on quarantine, customs clearance, logistics costs and tax refund services is relevant for importers and retail sourcing teams.
Wang Jun, deputy head of the General Administration of Customs, cited durian imports as an example at a press conference, according to a local media report.
Since 2022, China has approved durian imports from five countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia and Laos, Wang said. China’s durian imports reached 1.87 million tonnes in 2025, twice as much as in 2022, he added.
Wang also said measures will be adopted to steadily enhance the shopping experience for inbound tourists, including further streamlining departure tax refund services.
