China’s civil aviation turnover rose 6.4 per cent year on year to 83.37 billion tonne-kilometres in H1, official data showed.

China added 19 international cargo destinations, while Asia-Europe passenger and cargo volumes handled by Chinese airlines rose over 20 per cent.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said international transport was a major highlight of the sector’s first-half performance.
Passenger and cargo volumes handled by Chinese airlines in the Asia-Europe market both surged over 20 per cent YoY.
The sector’s flight regularity rate reached 93.5 per cent in the first half, indicating improved operational efficiency, added the CAAC.
