China recorded 140 million cross-border e-commerce buyers in the first half of 2026, underscoring continued growth in the country’s online international trade. Exports through overseas warehouses increased 3.3-fold during the period, reflecting the rapid expansion of cross-border fulfilment networks, according to the General Administration of Customs (GAC).
Customs data showed that China’s total cross-border e-commerce imports and exports reached 2.84 trillion yuan (~$418.06 billion) in 2025, marking a 4.8 per cent increase compared with the previous year. The figures reflect steady expansion despite a challenging global trade environment.
Meanwhile, market procurement exports exceeded 800 billion yuan in 2025, further contributing to China’s export growth. The customs authority said it will continue supporting innovative trade models to enhance the competitiveness and efficiency of the country’s cross-border trade ecosystem.
