The customs authorities of China and Cambodia recently signed an authorised economic operator (AEO) agreement to facilitate trade by simplifying customs procedures, accelerate customs clearance for highly compliant businesses and reduce physical inspections of goods.

The Cambodia-China Authorised Economic Operator Mutual Recognition Arrangement (Cambodia-China AEO MRA) was signed by Kun Nhem, director general of General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia (GDCE), and Sun Meijun, Minister of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), in Phnom Penh.

Cambodia has 11 AEO companies and its government is working to raise that number to 30 by the end of this year, according to Cambodian media outlets.
