Manufactured products recorded a steeper annual decline of 0.9 per cent, partly due to the timing of seasonal sales, while services inflation eased to 1.8 per cent from 2.1 per cent.
France’s annual inflation is projected to ease to 1.8 per cent in June from 2.4 per cent in May, mainly due to slower energy price growth, according to provisional INSEE data.
Monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI) is expected to fall 0.2 per cent, while the EU-harmonised inflation rate (HICP) is estimated to slow to 2.0 per cent from 2.8 per cent.
The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), used for comparisons across the European Union, is estimated to have increased 2.0 per cent annually in June, slowing from 2.8 per cent in May. On a monthly basis, the HICP is expected to decline 0.3 per cent, following a 0.1 per cent increase in May.
