Functional Fabric Fair to spotlight sustainable sourcing in NYC

Functional Fabric Fair powered by PERFORMANCE DAYS returns to the Javits Center in New York City for its Summer 2026 edition. The event opens with the Day 0 Sustainability Workshop on Tuesday, July 7, followed by two full days of exhibit hall sourcing, Expert Talks programming, and networking on July 8 and 9.The show connects brands, designers, product developers, sourcing agents, and students across athletic, outdoor, and functional fashion categories including swim, lingerie, activewear, and performance lifestyle with 150+ global suppliers and expert-led education.

Functional Fabric Fair Summer 2026 will bring together over 150 global suppliers, connecting sourcing teams with the latest performance and sustainable materials.
The event features a dedicated sustainability workshop, expert-led sessions, networking and innovations for the Summer 2027/2028 apparel seasons across activewear, outdoor, swim and lifestyle categories.

“New York remains a critical East Coast destination for the industry, bringing together the brands, designers, and sourcing professionals shaping the next generation of performance and sustainable apparel,” said Steve McCullough, Event Vice President. “With leading exhibitor suppliers showcasing new innovations and a full slate of educational programming, Summer 2026 gives attendees direct access to the materials and ideas that will define the Summer 2027/2028 seasons.”

Suppliers to See on Show Floor

With more than 150 international suppliers under one roof, the show floor is where sourcing decisions get made. Attendees can touch, test, and evaluate fabrics in person, meet the teams behind them, and walk away with the supplier relationships and material insights needed to build the next season’s line.

Here’s a preview of what to look for:

Burlington is debuting five new fabric capsules, each focused on a distinct intersection of sustainable design and performance.

Carvico arrives with two standout launches in warp-knit and circular stretch: Iseo, a double-faced fabric that functions as a soft “tecnocashmere” layer worn one way and a lightweight trekking layer the other; and Denver, a warp-knit legging fabric combining a compact, non-see-through surface with LYCRA ADAPTIV technology for smart elasticity, inclusive fit, and long-lasting stability.

Dry-Tex brings its full manufacturing breadth to the floor, with capacity spanning yarn production, air jet weaving, dyeing, and lamination across polyester, nylon, spandex, and recycled fabrics. The vertically integrated supplier produces everything from mechanical stretch yarns to double weaves and non-stretch wovens, making it a one-stop resource for brands working across multiple categories.

Everest will feature its full vertical integration spanning yarn texturizing, weaving, knitting, dyeing, finishing, coating, laminating, and garment production under one supply chain.

Flytec Textiles is known for a systems-based approach to material development, combining fabrics, membranes, and production logic into standardized, modular architectures that help brands scale innovation without added complexity. The China-based supplier integrates technology and fashion across a one-stop range of functional textile solutions.

Hyosung to showcase an expanded lineup of next-generation materials including new regen BIO Spandex offerings (regen BIO, BIO+, and BIO Max), 100% recycled regen Ocean Nylon made with reclaimed fishing nets, and multi-function 100% recycled regen Polyester.

Imbotex, an Italian insulation specialist with roots dating to 1955, turns textile waste into high-performance padding and insulation for apparel and sportswear. Its circular approach converts materials including denim, silk, camel hair, and post-consumer waste into thermal fillings that deliver warmth, breathability, and durability without relying on virgin resources.

Naia from Eastman to present its portfolio of cellulosic fibers made from sustainably sourced wood pulp and produced through a closed-loop process with a low carbon and water footprint. The lineup includes Naia filament yarn (known for its silky hand, natural breathability, and fluid drape) and Naia Renew, which incorporates 40% certified recycled waste content alongside renewable wood pulp.

Takisada-Nagoya, one of Japan’s leading fabric suppliers, offers attendees access to a network of more than 300 contracted mills across Asia and an inventory of over 40,000 SKUs available for immediate delivery.

YKK to present its full range of closures and findings, including metal, coil, and VISLON® zippers, snaps and buttons, and plastic notions.

“These are just a sampling of the brands you’ll find on the show floor this July, and that’s what makes this event so valuable. There’s no substitute for being in the room, handling the materials, and having real conversations with the people making them. That’s where sourcing decisions actually get made,” adds McCullough.
