Germany’s BASF to shut EPS production unit at South Korea site

BASF will cease expandable polystyrene (EPS) production at its Ulsan Plastics site in South Korea by mid-June 2026 as part of efforts to optimise its global styrenics production network and improve competitiveness.
BASF said customer supply will remain uninterrupted, while its European styrenics operations are unaffected.
The move follows a strategic review of operations.
