Germany’s CPI inflation is expected at 2.3 per cent in June 2026, while consumer prices fell 0.3 per cent from May.
Core inflation is projected at 2.5 per cent, keeping underlying cost signals relevant for sourcing and retail pricing teams.
Energy prices are seen 3.4 per cent higher year on year, with the pace easing from May and April.
The consumer prices decreased by 0.3 per cent compared with May 2026, based on results available so far. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy, is expected at 2.5 per cent in June 2026. Energy prices are expected to be 3.4 per cent higher than in June 2025, after year-on-year (YoY) increases of 6.6 per cent in May 2026 and 10.1 per cent in April 2026, Destatis said in a press release.
The Federal Statistical Office said that the consumers can use its Personal Inflation Calculator, available only in German, to adapt monthly consumption expenditure across product groups to their own patterns and calculate a personal inflation rate.
