HPRCA invites applications for 312 Assistant Staff Nurse vacancies under five-year engagement programme in Himachal Pradesh

The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA), Hamirpur, has released the notification for the recruitment of 312 Assistant Staff Nurse posts under Advertisement No. 12/2026. The vacancies are in the Department of Medical Education and Research, Himachal Pradesh, and will be filled on a five-year engagement basis.The notification was issued on July 23, 2026, while the online application process will begin on July 30, 2026, at 10 am. Eligible candidates can submit their Online Recruitment Application (ORA) through the official portal until August 29, 2026, at 11.59 pm.Eligibility and vacancy detailsThe recruitment is open only to female candidates. Applicants must possess either a B.Sc. Nursing degree with at least 50 per cent marks or a GNM/A-Grade Nursing Diploma with a minimum of 50 per cent marks.Candidates must also be registered with the Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council (HPNRC), Shimla-06. The notification states that applicants should be Himachali Bonafide candidates. They are also required to have passed Class 10 and Class 12 from institutions located in Himachal Pradesh, although this schooling condition will not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.The prescribed age limit is 21 to 45 years, with January 1, 2026, serving as the cut-off date for age calculation. Age relaxation will be applicable in accordance with government rules.Application fee and selection processCandidates from all categories, including General, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, BPL, WFF and PwBD, are required to pay an application fee of Rs 800. A correction fee of Rs 100 will be charged for modifying submitted application forms during the correction window, which will open four days after three days from the application closing date.The selection process comprises a Computer Based Test (CBT) or OMR-based written screening test, followed by document verification, preparation of the final merit list and medical fitness verification.Examination pattern and application processThe screening test will carry 120 multiple-choice questions for 120 marks and will be conducted over 90 minutes. The paper will include questions from Nursing subjects, General Knowledge, Himachal Pradesh General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English and General Hindi.Candidates must secure at least 45 per cent marks in the General category and 40 per cent in SC, ST, OBC and WFF categories to qualify.Applicants can register through the HPRCA portal by completing the One-Time Registration process, filling in the online application form, selecting their preferred examination district and submitting the application fee before the deadline. The selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly honorarium of Rs 25,000.
