AI workshop at IIT Madras to train participants in climate modelling and energy solutions

NEW DELHI: The AI4NetZero Team at the EnERG Lab, IIT Madras, will organise a three-day hands-on workshop titled “AI in Action: Climate and Energy Systems Applications” from August 7 to August 9, 2026. The programme will focus on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Data Science in climate research, energy systems and renewable power technologies.The workshop is aimed at students, researchers and industry professionals who want to understand practical applications of AI in addressing challenges related to energy transition and climate solutions.Workshop to explore AI applications in energy systemsDuring the three-day programme, participants will be introduced to data-driven decision-making methods and their role in modern energy systems. The sessions will cover AI applications in renewable energy forecasting, power-system optimisation, predictive maintenance and climate modelling.Participants will receive practical training through guided Google Colab tutorials and work with real datasets and reusable notebooks. The hands-on approach will help attendees understand how AI tools can be applied to analyse energy data and develop technology-based solutions.
