While many may assume that Taj hotels top the list of India’s most expensive stays, content creator Rochit Singh disclosed in a viral reel, which amassed over 258.9 K views, that Taj Mumbai does not make it to the top five most expensive luxury hotels.

According to him, some hotels can reportedly cost anywhere between Rs. 10 lakh and a whopping 28 lakhs just for a one-night stay. Their locations are equally mesmerising, ranging from lake-facing palaces in Udaipur to hotel suites with direct views of Taj Mahal.

Here’s a list of most expensive hotels:

1. Raj Mahal Jaipur

The rent for one night here is Rs. 29 lakhs, making it the most expensive hotel in India. It is a four-floor palace, and Rochit reminded that you get the complete palace experience here. It was built in 1727 and for many consecutive years won the World’s Leading Suite Award.

2. Taj Rambagh Palace

It is a luxury hotel in Jaipur. According to Rochit, the hotel hosted the Vice President of America, JD Vance and his family, during his visit to India, and a one-night stay here costs around Rs. 16 lakhs.

3. Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra

For travellers, seeking a rich and cultural experience, Oberoi Amarvilas offers an unforgettable view. A one-night stay here costs around Rs. 12 lakhs. Since the hotel is decently close to the Taj Mahal, around 600 meters, guests can savour the views of the monuments right from their suites.

4. Oberoi Rajgarh Palace

Located in Khajuraho, near Panna National Park, Madhya Pradesh, this luxurious hotel’s one-night stay costs Rs. 11 lakhs. The luxury property has also been featured in TIME Magazine’s World Greatest Places of 2026. The 350 year old palace is located atop the Maniyargh Hill and is surrounded by breathtaking green cover.

5. Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur

This last entry on this list also has a grand cinematic legacy! Scenes from the James Bond film Octopussy were shot here. One night stay at the hotel costs around Rs. 10 lakh, and the property is set against the gorgeous Lake Pichola.
