India’s polyester, viscose yarn markets subdued; monsoon disrupt trade

Slow demand and recent price cut in polyester value chain led to ease in PC yarn. A trader from Ludhiana market told Fibre*Fashion, “PC yarn demand is reducing as summer season is almost over. While polyester yarn may see better lifting in the coming week, as it usually sees higher demand after summer season.”

Polyester yarn prices were stable in Surat market. The market had noticed decline trend in the last week, as raw material became cheaper due to falling crude oil. According to market sources, polyester yarn prices are taking cue from upstream raw materials. Buyers are cautious for fresh buying. They do not want to take risk because of weakening of crude oil. Although, season impact on polyester yarn may be visible in coming weeks.
