India’s wholesale price index (WPI)-based inflation rose to 9.87 per cent in June this year from 9.68 per cent in May.
For manufactured products, it was 7.48 per cent in June, the same as in the preceding month.
The WPI inflation for textiles rose to 10.85 per cent in June compared to 10.22 per cent in May, while the same for readymade garments dropped to 2.57 per cent in June from May’s 4.28 per cent.
For leather and related products, it dropped to 3.63 per cent in June from 4.33 per cent in May.
Across groups, mineral oils, food articles, manufacture of basic metals, and manufacture of chemicals and chemical products were the major drivers of WPI inflation in June, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry said in a press release.
