India’s WPI inflation for RMG drops to 2.57% in June from 4.28% in May

India’s wholesale price index (WPI)-based inflation rose to 9.87 per cent in June this year from 9.68 per cent in May. For manufactured products, it was 7.48 per cent in June, the same as in the preceding month, while for fuel and power, it dropped to 27.41 per cent in June from 30.33 per cent in May.The WPI inflation for textiles increased to 10.85 per cent in June compared to 10.22 per cent in May, while the same for readymade garments (RMG) dropped to 2.57 per cent in June from May’s 4.28 per cent.

The WPI inflation for textiles rose to 10.85 per cent in June compared to 10.22 per cent in May, while the same for readymade garments dropped to 2.57 per cent in June from May’s 4.28 per cent.

For leather and related products, it dropped to 3.63 per cent in June from 4.33 per cent in May.

Across groups, mineral oils, food articles, manufacture of basic metals, and manufacture of chemicals and chemical products were the major drivers of WPI inflation in June, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry said in a press release.
