What is JoSAA mock seat allotment?

The mock seat allotment is a trial allocation process conducted before the actual seat allotment rounds begin. It is prepared based on candidates’ choices, Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) rank, category, and available seats. The exercise helps candidates understand their admission chances and make informed decisions before the choice-filling deadline.

Why is the mock allotment important?

The mock allotment result gives candidates an opportunity to:

  • Check the college and course they are likely to get.
  • Modify their preferences before the final deadline.
  • Add new choices if required.
  • Remove unwanted options.
  • Reorder choices to improve admission prospects.

Candidates who are not satisfied with the allotted seat can revise their preferences before the choice-filling window closes.

Last date for choice filling

JoSAA has announced that the last date for counselling registration and choice filling is June 11, 2026. Candidates are advised to review their mock allotment status carefully and make necessary changes before the deadline.
