Bengaluru: Magnet Hospitals has launched operations with eight hospitals in Bengaluru and plans to recruit over 200 clinicians while expanding its footprint to 12 locations and around 1,200 beds over the next two years. Launched on National Doctor’s Day, the network is betting on a clinician co-ownership model to strengthen accountability, transparency and patient care.Founded by healthcare executive Dinesh Madhavan along with a group of healthcare entrepreneurs, Magnet Hospitals aims to create a healthcare ecosystem where doctors and nurses are not only caregivers but also co-owners in the organisation.
The network currently operates hospitals in Langford Town, Electronic City, Jayanagar, Arakere, Jigani, Jalahalli, Mahalakshmi Layout and Nagarbhavi, while two greenfield hospitals are under development in Kalyan Nagar and Varthur.Speaking at the launch, Dinesh Madhavan, Managing Director, Magnet Hospitals, said, “Healthcare has always been built on trust. Today, patients feel disconnected from the care they receive. For the first time, doctors and nurses will be co-owners, creating a healthcare ecosystem where every clinical decision is based on what’s best for the patient. We will leverage Made-in-India technologies and medicines to help reduce healthcare costs while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.”
According to the company, the clinician co-ownership structure is the first of its kind for an Indian hospital network, giving doctors and nurses equity in the holding company. The model is designed to align clinical decision-making with patient outcomes while fostering greater ownership and accountability among healthcare professionals.
The hospital will reserve 15 beds across its Bengaluru hospitals to provide treatment for economically weaker sections.
Besides expanding its physical footprint, Magnet Hospitals is investing in technology-enabled care delivery through partnerships with medical technology companies and the deployment of an Agentic AI platform to improve operational efficiency and enhance patient experience.
Over the next 24 months, the network plans to add four more hospitals, taking its total to 12 facilities with nearly 1,200 beds, as it seeks to establish itself as a significant player in Bengaluru’s private healthcare market.
