The number of people in paid employment fell by an average of 6,000 per month. In addition to the unemployed, 3.2 million people were outside the labour force in June because they were not actively seeking work or were not immediately available, and this group rose by an average of 8,000 per month over the past three months, CBS said in a press release.
Netherlands unemployment fell to 393,000 in June, with the jobless total down by an average 5,000 per month over three months.
Paid employment also declined, falling by an average 6,000 per month as more people stopped working and left the labour market.
UWV benefit recipients dropped 1.2 per cent from May, with declines across all sectors.
The Employee Insurance Agency (UWV) recorded 196,900 current recipients of unemployment (WW) benefit at the end of June, 1.2 per cent fewer than in May. In June, 20,600 people were newly granted unemployment benefit and 23,100 benefits were terminated.
The number of unemployment benefits fell in all sectors. More people moved out of unemployment than into it in June.
The statistics agency said 149,000 unemployed people found work and 100,000 stopped looking and left the labour market, while 123,000 employed people lost jobs and 112,000 people previously unavailable for work decided to seek work.
