The decision will vary from one organisation to another. In companies with rigid working hours and conventional management, morning people tend to have a slight advantage since they appear more dedicated and responsible. However, according to recent studies, night owls can be equally efficient or even superior when provided an opportunity to work in accordance with their biological clock.

In the end, promotions are awarded based on sustained performance, leadership skills, communication ability and achievement. While waking up early might help gain recognition in some offices, success is much more dependent on the performance than the time of awakening.
