PTA, MEG slump outpaces PSF, expanding producer margins



PTA, MEG slump outpaces PSF, expanding producer margins
PTA and MEG prices fell much faster than polyester staple fibre through late June, widening polyester producers’ conversion margins despite lower overall prices.
China’s PSF import mix continues to shift, with Chinese Taipei and Malaysia gaining share while Vietnam and Thailand lose ground.
Unless feedstocks weaken further, scope for additional PSF price declines may remain limited.
