NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to close the online challenge window for the NEET UG provisional answer key tonight, June 28, 2026, at 11:50 PM.Candidates who appeared for the medical entrance re-examination must submit their objections along with a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 per question before the deadline expires.Key Timelines & High StakesThe re-examination was fast-tracked by the central agency to address prior evaluation discrepancies, involving over 20 lakh registered candidates across the country.The answer key challenge window opened on June 25, 2026, giving aspirants a narrow 72-hour window to verify their respective test booklet sets.

Fee Refunds and Verification RulesThe NTA has confirmed that if an objection is found to be valid by its panel of subject matter experts, the Rs 200 processing fee will be refunded to the candidate’s registered bank account.To facilitate refunds, a dedicated portal has been made available on the official NTA website, where candidates can verify or update their bank account details until June 30, 2026.To submit a valid challenge, candidates must upload authentic supporting documents, preferably from NCERT textbooks or other recognized academic publications.What Happens Next?After the challenge window closes, the NTA will complete the evaluation of the submitted objections and finalize the scanning and verification of individual Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets.A revised Final Answer Key will then be published. This final answer key will be binding and will serve as the sole basis for calculating scores, preparing merit ranks, and determining institutional cut-offs before the declaration of NEET UG 2026 results next month.
