The first teaser for Shraddha Kapoor‘s upcoming film ‘Eetha’ has leaked online shortly after making its theatrical debut alongside ‘Cocktail 2’, sparking excitement among fans.The teaser was attached to ‘Cocktail 2’, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, which hit theatres nationwide on Friday. However, many moviegoers who headed to theatres to catch the film’s early screenings took to social media to post about Kapoor’s next big-screen outing.
Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Eetha’ teaser leaked online
Videos circulating online showed portions of the teaser playing in theatres. Much like the previously released posters, the teaser introduces Kapoor in a traditional saree look. The clip opens with her as a heavily pregnant woman. The over one-minute-long clip begins with her character going into labour before transitioning to scenes that depict her as a stage performer and dancer.
About Shraddha Kapoor’s film ‘Eetha’
‘Eetha’ is based on the life of renowned Marathi Lavani dancer Vithabai Narayangaonkar, who is regarded as one of the most influential figures in Maharashtra’s folk theatre tradition. Known for her acclaimed Lavani and Tamasha performances, Narayangaonkar captivated audiences across generations and was honoured by the President of India with medals in 1957 and 1990 in recognition of her contributions to traditional folk art.
‘Eetha’ cast and release date
Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film also stars Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in pivotal roles.The project marks Kapoor’s reunion with producer Dinesh Vijan following their successful collaboration on the ‘Stree’ franchise. Vijan and Utekar also previously worked together on ‘Chhaava’, which starred Vicky Kaushal.Upon its release on August 28, ‘Eetha’ will face competition at the box office from ‘Vvan – Force of the Forest’, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia.Kapoor was last seen on the big screen in ‘Stree 2’, the sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy ‘Stree’, which was released in 2024.
