Ahead of the release of NEET UG 2026 results, the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee has opened applications for MBBS and BDS admissions for the 2026-27 session. Eligible candidates can register online, submit the required documents, and complete the admission formalities as the state gears up for counselling following the declaration of NEET scores.

The Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee has begun accepting online applications for admissions into MBBS/BDS programs in the academic year 2026-27. Candidates who are eligible for admissions can apply on the online admission portal while awaiting the final result of NEET-UG 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is yet to announce the revised NEET-UG results following the re-examination conducted on June 21. NTA had announced the reconduction of the examination following allegations of a leak in the May 3 examination. After the completion of the objection period for the provisional answer key, all candidates are eagerly waiting for the final release of the answer key or the result.The Tamil Nadu state is carrying out the admission procedure even after the delay in the announcement of the NEET-UG 2026 result in order to ensure that there will be enough time to prepare for the counseling when the entrance exam result will be announced.Candidates applying for admission in the undergraduate medical and dental course can apply through the official website of the state medical admission portal.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must satisfy the following conditions before submitting their applications: They must have qualified the NEET-UG examination. They should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Candidates must have completed 17 years of age to become eligible for admission.

How candidates can apply

Students can complete the application process by following these steps:

  • Go to the official admission portal.
  • Click on the link for online registration for MBBS and BDS admissions for the 2026 session.
  • Select the quota under which they wish to apply.
  • Register as a new candidate.
  • Log in using the generated registration credentials.
  • Fill in the application form carefully.
  • Upload the required documents and pay the prescribed application fee.
  • Review all details before final submission.
  • Download and keep a copy of the submitted application form for future reference.

Documents required

These documents are to be kept ready by the candidate when filling up the application form: Re-examination admit card & score card for NEET-UG 2026, Mark sheet of Class 10, Mark sheet of Class 11, Mark sheet of Higher Secondary (Class 12), Transfer certificate obtained on completion of, Plus Two or equivalent examination, Study proof of Classes 6 to 12, Nativity certificate for those who had studied partly in classes 6 to 12 outside Tamil Nadu, Supporting documents for native candidates of Tamil Nadu who have completed their schooling in Tamil Nadu, Permanent Community Certificate Card, First Graduate Certificate.Candidates claiming the First Graduate benefit will also be required to submit the relevant certificate issued by the competent authority at the time of securing admission in the allotted college.
