A moment from Corbett Tiger Reserve is trending on the internet, where two dangerous predators confronted each other in front of tourists. The muscular tiger picked up a snake, visibly from the python family, in its canines and casually walked into the bushes.Here’s a closer look at the savage interaction between a tiger and a snake in their natural surroundings.

Viewers gasp over tiger’s ferocious attitude

Saket Badola, the Field Director of Corbett Tiger Reserve and co-author of ‘Red Panda – Biology and Conservation of the First Panda,’ shared a menacing video that has taken over the internet. The video was shot by IFS Bhanudas Pingle, showing the tiger lurking around for a couple of seconds before navigating its way. The large cat bends down and picks up the snake in its mouth, toggling around to get a good grip for a moment. After looking at the sides, the tiger turns away and enters the bushes with its new dangerous prey. “‘Expect the unexpected’ when you are in Corbett,” the user said in the post.The clip garnered many likes, interactions, and comments on X, where the viewers expressed their astonishment. “Once in a billion time sighting,” one user said about the confrontation. Another user hailed nature and its creations, stating, “That’s mother nature and anything is possible.” A third user quipped, “The Tiger should be fined under Wildlife Act for killing an endangered animal.”

Obscure Truth: Many animals attack snakes

Snakes’ reputation hones the fact that it is one of the feared, venomous, and deadly animals on the planet. While most of the human species try to be as far as possible from snakes, many animals have evolved enough to hunt them down and have a feast. Let’s take a look at a few of them!Honey Badgers, profoundly seen in Africa, prey on snakes with their thick, loose skin and strong jaws. Usually found in deserts and dry places, they can overpower snakes with strong claws and enormous biting strength. Their diet includes highly venomous species such as puff adders, Egyptian cobras, and other vipers, as per A-Z Animals.Mongooses live in parts of Africa, Southern Europe, and Asia – and confront venomous snakes with their long and low bodies, allowing them to twist easily. With sharp teeth and jaws, they bite fast and with precision. Their diet includes Indian cobras, Egyptian cobras, puff adders, and other vipers.King Cobras are known as the apex predator amongst the family – and they feed on their own species. Their genus name, Ophiophagus, literally means ‘snake-eater,’ and they primarily eat other snakes. During the attack, King Cobras inject powerful neurotoxic venom that rapidly weakens or paralyses the snakes. They can even swallow the snake as a whole, sometimes even as long as they are. Their typical diet includes rat snakes, pythons, kraits, and even other venomous cobras.
