Turkiye’s textile sector contributes 6.1% to industry in 2025

Turkiye’s textile industry remained one of the country’s largest manufacturing sectors in 2025, contributing 6.1 per cent of total industrial sold production, while the broader manufacturing sector expanded strongly as the value of industrial products sold rose to TL 24.03 trillion (~$515.22 billion), according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).The textile industry ranked as the fourth-largest industrial division by sold production value, behind food products (15.5 per cent), basic metals (10.2 per cent), and motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (9.7 per cent), TurkStat said in a press release.

Turkiye’s textile industry accounted for 6.1 per cent of total industrial sold production in 2025, according to TurkStat.
Total industrial sold production rose to TL 24.03 trillion (~$515.22 billion).
Wearing apparel led subcontracted manufacturing with a 32.3 per cent share, while intermediate goods represented 43.8 per cent of production.
Kocaeli remained the leading industrial province by sales.

It reported that enterprises’ total sold production increased to TL 24.03 trillion in 2025 from TL 18.81 trillion in 2024 and TL 13.34 trillion in 2023, reflecting sustained growth across the country’s manufacturing sector.

The data also showed that wearing apparel dominated subcontracted manufacturing activity, accounting for 32.3 per cent of the total value of subcontracted product sales in 2025. Textile manufacturing ranked second with 17.6 per cent, followed by fabricated metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, at 9.3 per cent.

Classified by main industrial groupings (MIGs), intermediate goods held the largest share of sold production at 43.8 per cent, followed by consumer non-durables at 23.7 per cent and capital goods at 21.8 per cent.

Region-wise, Kocaeli accounted for 34 per cent of sales, followed by Bursa (29.8 per cent), Sakarya (11.8 per cent), Aksaray (3.9 per cent), and Izmir (3.6 per cent).
