UPSC NDA 2, CDS 2 2026: What candidates awaiting Class 12 results should know

UPSC NDA 2, CDS 2 2026: What candidates awaiting Class 12 results should know

For many Class 12 students waiting for their board results and applying for the NDA & NA (II) Exam 2026, need not worry. The commission will allow candidates whose results are still pending to apply under the “result awaited” category, so they do not lose an opportunity because different boards declare results at different times. For students, this means they can still sit for the written examination scheduled for September 13, 2026, and also take part in the SSB interview process even if their Class 12 result has not been declared by then. The idea is to ensure no candidate is left out of the selection cycle just because of delayed board results. However, this relaxation comes with a clear condition. Students must be able to produce proof of passing Class 12 before the training starts on July 1, 2027. Without this, they will not be eligible to join the academy even if they clear the written test and interview. The eligibility rules also remain the same for different wings. For the Army Wing, candidates from any stream, Science, Commerce or Arts can apply. But for the Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy, Physics and Mathematics in Class 12 remain compulsory.Candidates should also keep the key dates in mind. The last date to submit applications is June 9, 2026, till 6:00 pm. A correction window will remain open from June 10 to June 16, 2026. The written exam will be held on September 13, 2026, and the course will begin from July 1, 2027.UPSC CDS 2, NDA 2 2026: How to apply (Step-by-step)
