The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) will close the registration process for Excise Constable Recruitment 2026 today, June 24. Candidates who have not yet applied for the recruitment drive can complete their application process through the official website, upsssc.gov.in.The recruitment campaign aims to fill a total of 722 Excise Constable posts under the Office of the Excise Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh, Prayagraj. Candidates applying for the posts must have appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 and possess a valid PET score card.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants should have passed Intermediate (Class 12) or an equivalent examination from the Uttar Pradesh Board or any other recognised board.As per the notification, the age of candidates should be between 18 and 40 years as on July 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates and eligible state government employees as per government rules.Candidates holding an NCC B Certificate and those who have completed two years of service in the Territorial Army will be given preference during the recruitment process.

A total of 722 vacancies have been announced. Category-wise distribution of posts is as follows:
- General: 292 posts
- Scheduled Caste (SC): 142 posts
- Scheduled Tribe (ST): 12 posts
- Other Backward Class (OBC): 215 posts
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 61 posts
Selection process
The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages. Candidates will first be shortlisted on the basis of their PET-2025 scores. Shortlisted candidates will then have to appear for the Main Written Examination.Those who qualify the written test will be called for the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) before the final selection.
