Vietnam’s customs revenue on track to meet annual target

Vietnam’s budget revenue from foreign trade activities reached VND 215.14 trillion (~$8.17 billion) in the first five months this year, equivalent to 47.7 per cent of the annual target of VND 451 trillion and up by 16.9 per cent year on year (YoY), according to the Department of Customs.

The figure represents 41.6 per cent of the sector’s aspirational annual revenue target of VND 516.5 trillion.

Vietnam’s budget revenue from foreign trade activities reached $8.17 billion in the first five months of 2026, equivalent to 47.7 per cent of the annual target and up by 16.9 per cent YoY.
During January-May, exports rose by 19.5 per cent YoY to $215.66 billion, while imports surged by 30.8 per cent YoY to $229.46 billion.
Total trade turnover hit $445.12 billion, up by 25 per cent YoY.

Cotton worth $959.338 million was imported in the first five months this year, while the import of yarn during the period was worth $910.173 million. Fabrics worth $3.66 billion were imported during the period, while the import of textile, leather, footwear materials and auxiliaries was worth $2.22 billion.
