Weekly price shock alert: Sustainable MMCF – week ended July 10

Opening snapshot

Pakistan**;s domestic *.*D Modal price fell to PKR ***/kg on Tuesday, July *, from PKR ***/kg on Monday, marking a *.** per cent single-session decline that persisted through the remainder of the week. In contrast, every other TexPro-tracked MMCF (Man-Made Cellulosic Fibre) benchmark remained unchanged during the five trading sessions. Modal fibre prices in China and India, together with India**;s Modal, Ecovero, Liva Eco and Tencel yarns across both **/* and **/* counts, closed the week flat. The week**;s only price movement was confined to Pakistan.

Key price movement

TexPro;s Monday-to-Friday pricing grid reveals a clear regional divergence. Pakistan recorded its entire weekly decline in a single trading session before prices stabilised for the remaining three days. Meanwhile, all * other fibre and yarn benchmarks across China and India posted zero week-on-week movement, reinforcing the stability of the broader MMCF market.

Pakistan**;s PKR **/kg decline is significant enough to influence mill raw-material costs but remains too limited to alter regional pricing benchmarks or purchasing strategies outside the country.
