'Yeh humare desh ke jawan hain, this is Indian Army': Woman's EV dies midway, Army jawan pushes her car and refuses to leave until she's safe

Running out of fuel is stressful enough. Running out of battery in an electric car, with no charging station in sight, can feel even worse. That’s exactly what happened to beauty and lifestyle content creator Deepika Sharma. On what was supposed to be a routine drive, her electric vehicle lost charge midway, leaving her stranded by the roadside. She says she wasn’t sure what to do next—until a chance encounter with an Indian Army jawan completely changed her day.Deepika later shared the experience on Instagram, not to talk about her car, but to thank the man who stepped in when she needed help the most.

A small miscalculation turned into a long afternoon

According to Deepika, she had started the day with around 60 per cent battery, believing it would comfortably last the journey. But on the way back, things didn’t go as planned. She realised the battery was dropping much faster than expected.Trying to save whatever charge was left, she even switched off the air conditioning. It still wasn’t enough. When the battery level fell to around 10 per cent, she began searching for the nearest charging station. She kept driving, hoping she would make it in time. She almost did.By the time she reached the area where a charger was located, the battery had dropped to just 2 per cent before the car stopped completely.

She asked for directions. He offered much more

Unsure how to move the vehicle, Deepika approached an Indian Army jawan, identified as Mr Narendra. She says she only wanted to know where the nearest charging station was.Instead of pointing her in the right direction and moving on, he decided to help.In the video, Deepika can be seen visibly emotional as she explains that Mr Narendra began pushing the car towards the charging station, despite the heat outside.“He actually came and started helping me push the car,” she says in the clip. For Deepika, that simple gesture meant far more than just getting her vehicle moving.

‘Nobody does this anymore’

As she recorded the video, Deepika admitted the entire situation had overwhelmed her.She also acknowledged that the battery running out was her own mistake. But she said what stayed with her wasn’t the inconvenience – it was the kindness she experienced from a complete stranger.“In today’s world, people rarely stop to help,” she says in the video, before thanking the Army jawan for stepping in without hesitation. She also expressed her respect for members of the Indian Army, saying their willingness to help people goes beyond their official duties.

His help didn’t end at the charging station

For many people, pushing the car would have been enough. But according to Deepika, Mr Narendra didn’t leave after reaching the charging point. She says he stayed there while her vehicle charged, waiting for nearly half an hour. Only after making sure she was able to get back on the road safely did he continue with his own work. That, she says, is the part she’ll remember the most.In the caption accompanying the video, Deepika thanked him for his patience and generosity, calling the reel a small gesture of gratitude for someone who made a difficult day much easier. She described him as a hero in uniform and said she would never forget what he had done for her.

The internet applauded the gesture

The video quickly found an audience online, with many viewers praising the Army jawan for helping a stranger without expecting anything in return.Several people said acts of kindness like these restore faith in humanity.Others thanked members of the armed forces for the compassion they show not just while serving the country but also in everyday life. One user wrote that stories like these deserve more attention, while another simply commented, “Respect.”In a world where viral videos often capture arguments and road rage, this one stood out for a different reason. It wasn’t about a car running out of charge. It was about someone choosing to stop, help and stay until another person knew they were safe.
