Bangladesh’s GDP growth slowed sharply in Q3 FY26, with provisional estimates showing growth easing to 2.22 per cent, as per the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
The pace of growth was slower than the 4.53 per cent recorded in Q3 FY25.
The slowdown was largely driven by a contraction in the industrial sector.

GDP at current prices reached Tk15.391 trillion during Q3 FY26 from Tk14.192 trillion a year earlier.
BBS said growth was stronger in the first half of FY26, with the economy expanding by 4.96 per cent in Q1 and 3.03 per cent in Q2, before slowing markedly in Q3, according to domestic media reports.
Despite the weaker Q3 performance, the economy grew by 3.36 per cent during the first nine months (July-March) of FY26 compared with the same period of the previous fiscal.
However, the industry sector had posted stronger growth of 6.82 per cent and 1.27 per cent Q1 and Q2Â FY26 respectively.
