British International Investment (BII) has launched its 2026-2031 strategy in Bangladesh, reaffirming its long-term commitment to supporting sustainable and inclusive economic growth in the country.
The strategy will build on its past track record by partnering with businesses to create more jobs, strengthen economic resilience, advance gender inclusion and support transition to a greener economy.

Through its latest strategy, BII will build on this track record by partnering with businesses to create more jobs, strengthen economic resilience, advance gender inclusion and support the country’s transition to a greener, more sustainable economy. To achieve this, BII will continue to focus on sectors that are critical to Bangladesh’s development. These include financial services, manufacturing, finance for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), digital infrastructure and renewable energy, while increasing its efforts to mobilise private capital into high-growth sectors, BII said in a release.

“Our ambition is not only to invest, but to help mobilise greater pools of private capital into the sectors that will shape Bangladesh’s future growth,” Srini Nagarajan, managing director and head of Asia at BII, said.

In addition, BII will strengthen its commitment to frontier markets, with at least 25 per cent of the value of its new investments directed to countries classified by the United Nations as least developed countries, including Bangladesh.
