China’s H1 industrial output beats forecasts at 5.3%

China’s value-added industrial output expanded at 5.4 per cent year on year (YoY) in the first half (H1) this year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).The industrial output is used to measure the activity of large enterprises each with an annual main business revenue of at least 20 million yuan (~$2.95 million).

The value-added of the manufacturing sector grew by 5.6 per cent YoY during the period.
The industrial output expanded by 5.3 per cent YoY in June, stronger than the forecast 4.7 per cent growth, and rising from a 4.5-per cent YoY expansion in May.
