Chinese firm to invest $30 mm in BEPZA EZ in Bangladesh’s Mirsharai

China’s Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. will invest $30 million to set up a textile manufacturing unit at the Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) in Mirsharai sub-district of Chattogram district.When fully operational, the factory will produce 24,000 tonnes of yarn and 20 million metres of grey woven fabric annually, and employ around 580.

A land lease agreement between BEPZA and the Chinese company was signed recently in Dhaka.

A land lease agreement between BEPZA and the Chinese company was signed recently in Dhaka, BEPZA said in a press release.

Mohammad Tanvir Hossain, member (investment promotion) of BEPZA, and company managing director Bin Wang signed the agreement.

BEPZA executive chairman Maj. Gen. Mohammad Moazzem Hossain said the authority is committed to providing a safe, modern and business-friendly environment to investors and assured full support to help the company operate smoothly.
