Delhi University has directed postgraduate applicants under the CW supernumerary quota to check the newly released tentative eligibility list and confirm their assigned priority. Candidates required to upload a valid Educational Concession Certificate (ECC) and supporting documents through the CSAS PG portal must complete the process within the prescribed deadline, as no further extension will be allowed.

The University of Delhi (DU) has issued a crucial notification for candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programmes under the Children/Widows (CW) supernumerary quota for the 2026-27 academic session. The university has published the tentative list of eligible candidates and directed applicants to verify their eligibility status and assigned priority before completing the mandatory document submission process. The notification makes it clear that candidates who have been asked to furnish their Educational Certificate (ECC) and other supporting documents must upload them through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Postgraduate admission 2026 portal within the stipulated deadline.

Tentative list of eligible CW candidates released

According to the university, the tentative list contains the names of candidates who are eligible to be considered under the CW supernumerary quota for postgraduate admissions. Applicants have been advised to carefully check their eligibility status and the priority assigned to them in the annexure released by the university.The CW quota provides supernumerary seats for eligible wards of defence personnel, subject to verification of the prescribed documents and fulfilment of admission requirements.

ECC certificate submission mandatory

Delhi University has instructed candidates who have been specifically asked to submit a valid Educational Concession Certificate (ECC) along with supporting documents to upload the required documents through the DU CSAS Postgraduate Admission 2026 portal.The university has fixed 11:59 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, as the deadline for submission.Officials have emphasised that this is the last and final opportunity for candidates to complete the document submission process.

No extension will be granted

In its notification, DU has categorically stated that no requests for extension of the deadline will be considered after the specified date.Candidates who fail to submit the required ECC certificate and supporting documents within the prescribed timeline may not be considered under the CW category during the admission process.The university has advised applicants to avoid waiting until the final hours and ensure that all documents are uploaded correctly on the admission portal.

Documents required for verification

The notification further states that candidates falling under Priority 1 to Priority 5 of the CW category must submit the prescribed documents for verification.These documents will be used by the university to verify the authenticity of claims made under the CW supernumerary quota before admissions are finalised.What candidates should doEligible CW applicants should:

  • Check the tentative eligibility list and assigned priority.
  • Verify whether they have been asked to submit an Educational Concession Certificate (ECC).
  • Upload the valid ECC certificate and all supporting documents through the DU CSAS PG Admission 2026 portal before the notified deadline.
  • Ensure that all uploaded documents are complete and valid to avoid complications during the verification process.

With the application process for admission to postgraduate courses going on, it has been clarified by Delhi University that following the guidelines for submission of the prescribed documents is compulsory for the candidates who apply for admission in CW supernumerary quota. It is also clear that no second chance will be offered after the date of submission of required documents.
