Euro area annual inflation is expected to have eased to 2.8 per cent in June 2026 from 3.2 per cent in May, according to Eurostat’s flash estimate, giving European retail, sourcing and supply-chain teams a fresh indicator of consumer-price conditions across the currency bloc.Among the main components, energy is expected to record the highest annual rate in June at 8.7 per cent, compared with 10.8 per cent in May. Services inflation is expected at 3.2 per cent, down from 3.5 per cent, Eurostat said in a press release.

The agency noted that Germany updated its item weights for 2026 in June 2026, which also changed euro area weights. The Netherlands did not provide data by publication time, so its data were estimated only for calculating European aggregates.
