Germany’s wholesale price inflation slows to 4.9% in June

Germany’s selling prices in wholesale trade were 4.9 per cent higher in June 2026 than in June 2025, while the annual rate eased from 5.9 per cent in May 2026 and 6.3 per cent in April 2026, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). Germany’s wholesale selling prices rose 4.9 per cent year on year in June 2026, easing from 5.9 per cent in May and 6.3 per cent in April, according to Destatis.
Prices fell 0.7 per cent month on month, but Iran and Middle East tensions kept energy and raw material costs elevated.
Chemical wholesale prices, relevant to textile inputs, were up 14.9 per cent YoY and 0.5 per cent from May.

For textile, apparel and sourcing businesses watching European input costs, the movement in energy, metals and chemicals remains relevant to procurement and cost planning.

Wholesale prices for chemical products were 14.9 per cent higher than in June 2025 and 0.5 per cent above May 2026 levels.
