The foundation stone for a $62.7-million garment manufacturing hub by Lux Industries in Dankuni in West Bengal’s Hooghly district was recently laid.
The Lux Cozi expansion project will transform the 800,000-sq-ft unit into a 2-million-sq-ft integrated manufacturing campus.
It will add an annual production capacity of 200 million garment pieces, boosting the group’s annual capacity to 360 million.

The new facility will add an annual production capacity of 200 million garment pieces, boosting the group’s nationwide annual capacity from around 120 million pieces to approximately 360 million, an official statement from the company said.

“The company’s revenue expectation is around ₹1000 crores ($104.5 million), and approximately 9,000 families will get jobs here,” Lux Industries director Saket Todi said. The project is expected to generate 3,000 direct jobs and 6,000 indirect jobs.

“The Dankuni facility will not only strengthen our production capabilities but also create meaningful employment, accelerate regional industrial development, and contribute to India’s emergence as a global textile and apparel manufacturing powerhouse,” the group’s chairman Ashok Todi said.
