TimesofIndia.com in Ahmedabad: What began as a disappointing night on the field nearly turned into a far more alarming ordeal for the Gujarat Titans (GT).The night went from bad to worse for the Shubman Gill-led GT when their team bus suffered a short circuit while returning from the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday night, leaving the players stranded on the road for nearly an hour, TimesofIndia.com can confirm. The players and support staff were evacuated immediately, and everyone is safe.GT had already endured a tough evening after suffering a five-wicket defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. It has been a gruelling few days for the Titans. Their arrival in Ahmedabad ahead of the final was delayed due to poor weather conditions across north-western India. Heavy rain delayed GT’s chartered flight by nearly three hours, and the team eventually reached Ahmedabad late on Saturday. The delay also forced the postponement of the scheduled captains’ photoshoot featuring Shubman Gill and Rajat Patidar. The Titans have barely had time to catch their breath over the past five days. On May 26, they lost Qualifier 1 to RCB at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. The following day, they travelled to Chandigarh before taking on Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 at the New PCA International Stadium in Mullanpur on May 29.Despite losing in the final on their home turf, captain Shubman Gill had praise for his team “We couldn’t get over the line, but there are always things that you could improve on. And even if we had won the trophy, there were still things that we felt as a group that we needed to work on,” he said at the post-match presentation.
