Turkiye will implement new regulations offering stronger protection for consumers against unfair commercial practices and deceptive AI-generated ads from August 1.
The rules, that introduce new requirements for digital marketing, AI content, influencer advertising and discounted sales campaigns, will raise transparency in digital advertising, strengthen consumer protection and back fair competition.

Influencers will mandatorily identify sponsored posts with labels such as ‘advertisement’ or ‘promotion’ when they receive financial or other benefits, according to domestic media reports.

Sellers and service providers must respond to consumer complaints before publication within 48 hours instead of 72 hours earlier.

The scope of advertising bans covering illegal betting and gambling activities will also be expanded to include illegal games of chance, while restrictions on advertisements for services provided by fortune tellers, psychics and astrologers will remain in place.
